Finally it’s here. The Madness of Robin Randle is available now at Amazon in both print and Kindle editions. It has been a journey. I have to thank my daughter Elizabeth for creating an amazing cover. It is a wonderful watercolor painting. I will make reproductions of this piece of art available for purchase sometime in the near future.
I had to make a hard choice. I was about 10,000 words in on part two of the book I’m writing called Legends of the End. Things had run off the rails. I stopped and read it all and found I was writing in circles. Very disturbing when you think you know where things are going. I realized that what I hadn’t done was account for the changes I’d made to end of part one. I mean who would have thought, right?

I was having breakfast with a writer friend of mine this morning and we were talking about how the stories and characters we create surprise us sometimes. You just never know what those darn characters are going to do next. You plan and plan then the story just takes on a will of its own. It’s fun to watch all that unfold. It is kind of like being the first reader of the story even though you are creating it. A song by Chris Isaak was at the root if the current book I’m writing. Last week I spoke to the challenges that I was facing. Be assured I didn’t list all of them and also be assured that many of the challenges I face seem trivial in the light of what I observe others dealing with. Truth is I’m a blessed man. I spent the last eleven weeks attending the Citizen’s Police Academy hosted by the Kansas City Missouri Police Department.
