Carved stone is everywhere around cities. Some more than others. My latest project is looking at these guys and really see them and find a proper way to represent the emotional content. This photo is an early trial.
A few weeks back we had a couple of days where the fog around Kansas City got pretty bad. This time of year it can be 70 one day and snow the next. I spent a little time hunting around town looking for the right objects I needed to create some ideas I’ve been wanting to work on. This is one. I know the element of fog may not be apparent but it gave me the atmosphere I needed to work with.
It seems like it has been a long time since I posted here. I have been finishing the photos to be used in exhibition at Project Uplifts 20th Anniversary Gala this coming March AND putting the special edition book together as well. The book will have my photos of a group of homeless men and women here in Kansas City and it will also have their stories written by my wife Patti
I know so many people (including myself) who begin to feel depressed and start to have a general feeling of malaise. This dons’t mean they suffer with depression but there is something about this time of year that reaches inside us and touches us in a very mysterious way.
